Lynne Ashberry was born in Etobicoke and has lived in the Barrie area since 1981. She has 3 daughters and 4 and a half grandchildren. J She has a secretarial diploma, a Property Management Certificate, Real Estate License, ECE Diploma and a B.A. Ed. Lynne got her first job on a pony farm when she was 11 years old. She has worn several different hats since. She has been a Property Manager, owned and operated Springwater Daycare while her children were growing up. When the children were all safely in school, Lynne went to Teacher’s College and taught music schools in the Simcoe County School Board for 12 years. She also taught Music For Young Children for many years out of her home. Lynne enjoyed teaching but knew she wanted to go back to being Captain of her own ship. She and her husband decided to look for a business they could run together. That’s when they discovered Plato’s Closet. They have now opened 2 – one in Barrie and one in Newmarket. Plato’s Closet buys and sells gently used young adult clothing. The 2 stores currently employ about 25 young people. Visit their website here.
